Age: 40s Hair type: Fine, long, chemically treated Products: OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo + Conditioner Olaplex Shampoo + Conditioner (Fine Hair) As my hair has changed in my 40s, I’ve had to rethink how I choose shampoo and conditioner. I have long, chemically treated hair that’s become finer over time. Previously, I leaned into very hydrating formulas—but they consistently left my hair looking limp and weighed down. After doing some research, I switched to formulas designed specifically for fine hair, and this combination has worked extremely well for me. OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo & Conditioner Lightweight and easy to rinse Doesn’t weigh hair down Great for regular washes This is my go‑to for everyday use. My hair feels clean, soft, and has noticeably better volume without feeling dry or stripped. Olaplex Shampoo & Conditioner (Fine Hair) More nourishing and treatment‑like Slightly heavier, but still suitable for fine hair Leaves my hair feeling stronger and smoother I use Olaplex about 2–3 times per month, almost like a built‑in treatment wash. My routine: Wash every 3–4 days Alternate two wash cycles with OUAI, then one wash with Olaplex The result is hair that feels soft, has great volume, and—most importantly—doesn’t get frizzy, even in summer humidity. I’m very happy to have found this balance, and I plan on sticking with this routine long‑term.

I was so excited to try this out! I’d read the description and it sounded great, but unfortunately, all it’s done is dry out my hair and make it greasy. I’ve had no issues with my hair, was just looking for something new to try, and now I’m going to have to rehabilitate my hair.

After a few weeks of using this shampoo, it’s been a total game changer. My very fine, thin hair now has much more volume and looks noticeably thicker. I will definitely purchase this again. The only drawback is the scent—it’s not very appealing—so it would be great to have another fragrance/scent option. That is the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars.

I’ve always struggled with fine hair and a greasy scalp, but I’ve been using this shampoo for about two weeks now and I can go longer between washes.

Not the best if you have sensitive skin. Scalp was not happy (look of the hair was nice for first few uses but unable to continue)

by far, the best fine hair shampoo I have found, and I am a hairdresser! My hair looks amazing down and up with this shampoo. It appears thick and full and it smells and feels great too. The conditioner is equally as great.

This is such a nice, gentle and clean shampoo. The smell is so fresh, my hair always feels so clean after. I have a lot of fine hair and this is honestly the best shampoo I have found to date.
