Really liking the Act+Acre Balancing Shampoo! It cleans my scalp without stripping and leaves my hair feeling fresh and light. Super gentle, no dryness, and my hair looks healthier over time. Perfect if you want something clean and balanced for everyday use.
The shampoo feels like it was developed before the discovery of soap and the conditioner made me question if I accidentally bought a bottle of lotion. There is zero lather so a lot goes a short way. However if you are a professional scarecrow then this product is for you as I left the shower with hair that feels like straw. If anyone has crops that need protecting I’m ready for the job.
I bought this shampoo/conditioner along with the clarifying shampoo that eliminates mineral build up. The clarifying shampoo seemed to work. This shampoo and conditioner left a film over my hair. I woke up this morning and my hair felt greasy. I thought maybe I left the conditioner in for too long. Turns out according to the reviews this conditioner is awful. I bought it thinking maybe it would help my natural curl and all it did was weigh my hair down. I’m returning it. greedy
Absolutely horrible. Tried for the first time tonight, and literally went right behind the 2 washes with this specific shampoo, and shampooed a third time with my normal shampoo just to get this shampoo out. It absolutely cleaned nothung, left my hair feeling like stray, to the point where I couldn’t even run my hands through it anymore trying to work the shampoo into my scalp.
took 3 shampoos to fully lather and feel like my hair was somewhat clean. did not like it at all.
I've been using this product for about 3 weeks now and I am really liking it. It's definitely taken some getting used to, but so far I am really pleased with the results. I have spongiotic dermatitis on my scalp (essentially eczema) and I was really struggling with flare ups and finding a good shampoo that wasn't insanely expensive to help manage it - I've been using the Act + Acre Microbiome Cooling Scalp Serum for almost two years now and it's one of the only things that helps my scalp. I decided to give this shampoo a try and I am very happy with it, my scalp doesn't get inflamed or irritated when I use this shampoo. It did take a while for me to get the hang of how to use it - Make sure to shake before using! I split my hair down the middle, do one pump of shampoo add water until I get a nice soapy lather (more water than you probably think) and then rub that along the back and top of my head. Then I do another pump add water and lather and do the sides of my head. I let the first shampoo sit for about a minute and then I rinse and do it all a second time. Doing it this way seems to get all spots on my head covered so nothing is greasy. I do have to rinse my hair out for a little longer than with some other shampoos I've used, but I'm able to get all the product out. I have 3A curly hair, and while I like the light smell of the matching conditioner I think I need something much more hydrating for my ends. I will be purchasing the shampoo again though!
I wish my experience was more similar to the positive reviews, but after using this for 5 washes, my hair feels horrible. I've had to wear it up everyday for weeks because I simply can't stand the way it looks for feels. No matter how long I rinse, I never feel like the product is complete out; my hair is greasy but straw-like, it's frizzy and I've noticed more breakage than before. I reached out to the company and they urged me to stick with it, saying a full 30 days is recommend for my scalp to 'get used to' the new product... but I've bounced between dozens of shampoos in my life and I've NEVER experienced anything like this. I don't want to spend another week of hating my hair, so I the products are in the recycling bin. I'm truly irritated I spent +$60 on these products (shampoo and conditioner)
You have to use a ton of product to get any lather, and you absolutely need to wash hair 2-3 to cut through any oil on the scalp. If I washed vigorously, flipping my hair upside down and really applying the product intentionally, it would eventually feel clean, but my ends would be very tangly. All that scrubbing and combing eventually just leads to more hair shedding, which defeats the whole purpose of the formula. I went through a whole bottle in less than 3 weeks and most days my hair would look and feel oily and weighed down after it dried, as if I hadn’t washed it at all. Disappointing. I like the scent and packaging though!
I dont know where the hydration is suppose to be but this made my hair feel like straw and very rough before I even got out of the shower. Ending up rewashing my hair with my normal shampoo twice before it felt soft again.
Act+Acre Cold Processed Shampoo is gentle but super effective. It cleanses without stripping, soothes my scalp, and leaves my hair soft, shiny, and healthy. Love the clean ingredients and light scent!
