Best Clean Source of Kombu Seaweedd

This brand of Kombu is the best Clean (free of microplastic) source of seaweed for cooking purposes, that I have found. High quality and very tasty when rehydrated for 15 minutes and cut into bite size pieces to use in stews and soups. Great to use in bean and kabocha pumpkin recipes to soften the outside shell. Also a great package size that lasts a while since I only use once strip at a time. I highly recommend this brand!

Deep ocean nutrition in a pouch

This kombu is a true gem for anyone interested in mineral-rich nutrition and gut support. I use it in soups, broths, and even when cooking beans — it helps soften them and makes digestion easier. The texture is thick and satisfying, and the subtle umami flavor adds depth without overpowering the dish. What I appreciate most is that it’s clean, not overly salty, and smells like the ocean — in the best, purest way. If you’re looking to enrich your iodine intake naturally or support your thyroid gently, this is a beautiful addition to your pantry.

Soups on!

1st tasted this when i purchased Eden beans, which are cooked with kombu, aiding in increasing digestibility👍🏻 Only 1 ingredient! Also useful as flavour enhancer, while providing minerals & iodine. Eden has been ahead of the curve so many times over the years, like packing their prepared beans in BPA free cans. They are still independently owned✅

The best Kombu!

I recently tried Wild Kombu from Japan’s northern Hokkaido Island, and it has completely transformed my cooking. This hand-harvested sea vegetable is known for its rich umami flavor, and I’ve been using it in everything from soups to stews. The packaging is simple and keeps the kombu fresh, and I love that it’s gluten-free, making it a clean and nutritious addition to my pantry. I’ve started adding kombu to my homemade dashi, and the depth of flavor it brings is incredible. It enhances everything I cook, from vegetable stews to broth-based dishes. I’ve even tried roasting it and grinding it into a powder, which makes an excellent, low-sodium seasoning for popcorn and other dishes. Kombu has been a versatile and healthy ingredient in my kitchen, and I’m excited to experiment with it even more. If you’re looking for a natural way to elevate your meals, Wild Kombu is a must-try!

Good to know about

I have met the company founder and been very impressed. I use a piece whenever I soak beans, and always add a piece to my soups and bone broths for extra nutrition. This part of the ocean is very clean due to tide patterns so quality is very high.

Very Functional

Eden Foods – Kombu (Sea Vegetable) is characterized by its strong umami, slightly briny taste. It is rich in iodine and minerals and best used for broths, enhancing soups, and for digestion support as well. However, be careful not to overuse it due to iodine overload risk. Best used occasionally for flavor boosting without calories.

Great Addition When Cooking Beans

I always use this when cooking beans. Although it smells quite fishy, it tastes nice when cooked along with beans. It is quite expensive though, so the price is a barrier to buying, especially since the package's size is quite small. It is one quality ingredient and perfect for any diet. I recommend it for those who cook beans often or want to add more sea vegetables to their meals.

awesome for adding nutrition

this is great for adding nutrition and minerals to recipes. I add it when I cook beans per suggestion of a recipe book and while that book is written by a parent that cooked for her special needs child and she did a macrobiotic diet for her child I don't follow such a plan. nonetheless the nutrition content is very sound and this is underutilized in our country and should be trialed more and should be used more often. the packaging is simple but easy and only a small amount is needed for each recipe. the taste is not strong at all to me and I have no problems with it. an awesome product.
