great flavor. feels healthy. i do wish they would make this in a sprouted version. I put these in my homemade vegetable soup
What an interesting bean! be aware that this is a bit smaller than the typical chickpea, and I think more fibrous. it requires soaking overnight plus an additional up to 2 hours cooking. do not add salt until the very end as they will be tough and not feel cooked all the way through. I'm still experimenting with them, I will explore making crispy chickpea snacks next.
We tried these as an addition to our bean repertoire. They're delicious. Normal garbanzo beans fall apart more easily. These hold their shape, add color (even if it's black; less blah than beige) and have nice texture. So now we use these in dishes, and stick to normal garbanzos for making hummus.
