I have genetically high cholesterol and have been taking the Red Omega. My cholesterol has come down slightly after taking 1 of these large soft gels a day. After I first started taking red yeast rice (a different one) I got the sore muscle effect in one arm but it disappeared after a few months after taking this product, possibly due to the added CoQ10.
I bought capsules to lower cholesterol levels and not take statins. Of course, capsules in this direction only work in conjunction with a diet. The composition is good. This is everything my doctor recommended I take. It is only packaged in one, albeit large, but quite convenient gel capsule. I noticed a decrease in cholesterol to normal levels after about six months.
