Teas from the first flush are generally more fragrant and light. Technique After the newly sprouted leaves have been plucked, they are withered over warm air for a few hours to reduce moisture, and then a delicate rolling of the leaves is performed. The leaves being to oxidize (change colors from green to dark) and the flavor develops. Finally, the leaves are oven baked. Flavor Profile The term most often used in describing Darjeeling teas is 'Muscatel', referring to the distinct white grape flavor. First flush Darjeeling has several textures to the brew, a slightly dry taste and lasting aftertaste.

A bit bland
I normally buy my Darjeeling tea in India, so my review is probably going to be a tad biased. I'm used to a massive variety of Darjeeling, with quality varying in terms of flavour and depth. This tea is a bit too light for my taste. Yes, Darjeeling tea is supposed to be mild, but this is slightly too mild. It doesn't go well at all with milk (even when you use very little of it), so English or Indian tea preps don't turn out well. This is best drunk on its own.

This is a nice tea. But just be aware that it includes both black and green tea leaves. For some reason, I react differently to green tea, so unfortunately won't be finishing this. I also bought the Nilgiri Blue tea by this brand and it is wonderful!

We love leaf black tea and decided to try this one. What can I say? This tea has enough aroma, has a pleasant taste, the color is quite light. For us, this tea is not rich enough, we prefer a darker brew. But hey, that's just our personal preference.
