That might sound like a bad thing but I bought Nature's Answer Barberry root in order to better stimulate my body into producing its own digestive juices, as bitter herbs are said to do. This is so bitter that it's even more bitter than gentian, which is a standard for bitter (also produced by the same company)! I gave it 5 stars for potency, not for taste - the taste lingers in my mouth for a long time, but you know what, when you get enough health problems, you don't care about taste so much, right? Barberries contain berberine and are said to be good for digestive issues and infections. I swish with some water then swallow (because in my case I also want the beneficial effects in my mouth). There are no filler ingredients so I consider this brand good quality.

I’ve been using this for almost 10 years. Very good for any viral or bacterial problems. It works better than golden seal. Yo only want to use it for several days but it kills the bad guys . I have a bottle in my go bag. Always have som on hand

I have used Nature's Answer for years, and I was grateful to find that they offer a liquid alternative for Barberry Root. Would recommend for anyone who has trouble with pills.

This extract works just as well as Berberine supplements and are so easy to take in a little water. I like being able to adjust the dose to what I need which is on the low side for sensitivity. In the supplement I can't control the amount like with the extract. I find it good for Liver bile issues, and other gastro healing. A good company I can trust, Nature's Answer.

I pack this along to take on the go. If I am away from home, and my blood sugar spikes, a drop or two in my water helps! I am not in need of blood sugar meds, but my doctor told me it was fine for me to use. This is my personal experience, not for medical advice.
