I bought these to replace a well used and much loved Fugitive purchased 10+ years ago but finally the soles delaminated. First - sizing. These are spot on for my usual size 12, just enough room in the toe box to move around comfortably and not feel like my toes are smashed when angled downhill. I have typical/average width feet and these are again spot on, just enough room for a thicker sock and looser laces if I need that, but thin sock and tight laces when it's warmer. Second - fit and comfort. Exact replacement for my old Fugitives, exact same comfortable fit. Yes they are obviously stiffer due to being new but they feel just like my old pair and breaking them in should be a piece of cake again. I love the weight of these - enough to feel durable and rigid enough to handle extra weight when going with a decent size backpack, but light enough that you can also easily do a 10+ mile day without feeling them at the end. Really good balance as with many Asolo boots. Third - yeah it's not exactly a deal breaker, but some boots are just plain ugly even if they're very functional, so I love that these can easily be brushed off and wiped down after a day on the trails and not look out of place walking into a cocktail bar for dinner afterwards. The colors on these are really well judged. Bottom line, I debated for a long, long time when replacing my Fugitives and almost tried talking myself into another brand just to change things up, I thought how can a boot that's basically 20 years old really hold its own these days? But they do, they definitely do, and I'm so glad I decided to stay with the old familiar!
