I've had other canned fish before and found the black pepper to be over powering. However, with Crown Prince Kipper Snacks, it's rather mild. I do have to comment though that CP does have more of a fishy smell than it's competitors. Plus it's rathe salty too. I may go for the lower sodium version in the near future. Otherwise very good.
We love kippers because they are naturally low in mercury since they are low on the food chain and even more importantly, they are an outstanding source of Omega 3 fatty acids and a good source of choline. The downside: most kippers are really high in sodium. The Crown Prince natural kippers are low sodium and to us, taste better than the high sodium versions. Definitely highly recommended.
Mild and fresh — much better than other canned sardines I've tried. The spring water keeps the flavor light without being bland. Great for a quick protein-rich meal
The quality of the ingredient seems so great.These canned sardines are tasty, very convenient for my daily meals, and they also fit well into my diet because they are high in protein and healthy fats and help keep me full for longer.
I like this brand of canned kippers so I thought I would give this flavor a try. However it was against my better judgment because I know that when black pepper gets overly saturated it can release the full spectrum of its flavor profile, which can bother me a bit. I guess I prefer my black pepper to be freshly cracked. This is a good product but it just didn't meet my sensitive taste with complete satisfaction.
Perfect size for two servings. The smell is what you would expect. I serve on warm rice, avocado, sourcream, dill, green onion and a drizzle of olive oil as a meal. Delicious

It's good just like their normal regular herring. Really like it. Not really sure if the black pepper is felt but I shuold try it again.
I’m not a fan of “fishy” fish and these fit the bill. The taste is slightly smoky and nice. The can is the right size for a quick meal but I usually use half at a time on a salad or crackers. Nice way to get extra protein in my diet.
