Comfortable from Day 1: My favorite feature is the wide toe box and the heel does not rub. Salomon's from now on only.

Fit was great for me. I usually wear a 9.5-10 shoe and got a 10.5 in this shoe. The toe box was very roomy. Great cushioning. I was doing a lot of walking mixed between trail and paved areas and they were super comfortable and didn't require any breaking in. It was nice having a grippy sole on the trails.

Love these shoes! Salomon Ultra Gide are my new favorite. I had been using the Speedcross for years (also amazing), however, with increasing mileage I needed something with a bit more cushioning. This is one of the best distance trail running shoes I have worn. Waiting on the gore-tex version for winter and maybe even "women's only-not unisex" spikes!!!

Very light weight and comfortable: This is a very light weight and comfortable neutral trail running shoe. I wore it for a 25 mile trail run right out of the box with no problems. I have been running in the Salomon Genesis and wanted to try this shoe. Happy with both and would use each for different reasons. Genesis for more technical trails and Ultra Glide for training and recovery days. I think you could race in the Ultra Glide, but you give up a little speed/responsiveness as you would with any max-cushion shoe.

The cushioning provides a smooth, responsive ride while still feeling stable on the trails. The grip continues to perform exceptionally well, giving me confidence on a variety of surfaces and conditions. Overall, these have become one of my favorite trail shoes for both comfort and performance.
