I ordered these in 10.5 wide and both the fit and width were true to size. I wanted to love these. I wanted to hike for many miles in these; however, there are two design issues that will not work for me. First, as many other people mentioned, something is off about the asymmetrical tongue. The asymmetry causes it to cut into my leg/ankle. Second, the heel padding around the top of the shoe is too thick and it caused major rubbing/redness. I took them off before they could rub a blister. Sadly, returning for these two issues. Otherwise, everything about them was perfect.

I struggle to find a good walking/trail shoe that accommodates my bunion and my high arches. I ordered the Bushido III in wide hoping for pain-free steps. But the sole is very stiff and inflexible and there was little or no arch support or padding under the ball of the foot. I can imagine that walking or running even on soft trails would hurt and result in a lot of foot fatigue. So my search goes on (trying Topo Athletic next). I really find Zappos reviews helpful, and hope my feedback helps someone else.

These hikers/trail runners are so lightweight (which is amazing for travel) and I feel confident in their quality to hike challenging terrain in them. They are also really cute which is such a plus when you have limited packing space!
