I happened upon the Trabuco 12 several years ago and they were (and still are) the best walking/jogging/trail running shoes I have ever worn. I bought several before the style changed because I loved them so much. Subsequent versions of this shoe fell pretty short and I’ve been searching for a replacement since. The Trabuco 14 is very similar to the 12 and are exactly what I have been searching for. Comfortable right out of the box, responsive, lightweight, great cushion, gentle spring, perfect arch support, cool colors, and that sweet lace strap. I would love a hint of reflectivity but won’t complain because my feet are happy again. I put in a lot of miles every day and most other brands are wreaking havoc on my feet. This is the only shoe that works for me and I love how versatile it is. I’m especially loving the sandstorm/oatmeal color this season and hope ASICS continues with more sporty, neutral colors (not all of us ladies want black, white or the dreaded pink). These Trabucos are great for varying terrain. I do a mix of urban and remote long distance walking/hiking. These have surprisingly been amazing for sidewalk/road walking/jogging. These shoes are NOT great for really rugged, intense, rocky or steep terrain. For that I switch to a tighter shoe with Vibram soles. I do go half a size up in these for a perfect fit.

The Rearfoot GEL technology, which is a shock-attenuating material placed in the midsole, provides cushioning and shock absorption. Great hiking shoe! So comfortable , favorite hiking shoe! There is so much support
I bought four pairs of trail running shoes mostly because I was looking for something with a wider toebox and more stability because of ankle and knee issues. These were the clear winner. Roomy toebox just the right shape, plenty of support, maybe not quite as cushiony as a couple of others I tried but much more stable feeling. Only thing missing might be a loop at the back of the heel to pull it on but these seem to go on pretty well without that. I had surgery on my Achilles so the heel fit is important. Would be great to get them other in colors. I picked the black and purple and they look sharp.
Great Support & Comfort: I have issues with my heel and these shoes give the best support and cushion. I highly recommend them.
Really solid trail shoes that feel stable, comfortable, and confident on all types of terrain. The purple color is my absolute favorite! Tip: try them on before buying in my case they ran about half to one size bigger than my usual size.
