I very much like Shiloh Farms products. I use the Rye Flakes in my homemade muesli. I use a combo of some or all of sprouted rolled oats, rye flakes, spelt or kamut flakes, barley flakes, ground flax seeds and/or chia seeds and whatever fruit I like, fresh or dried. Delicious with whole raw milk.
Love these rye flakes. I eat them when I get bored of oatmeal, and also use them in conjunction with oat flakes to make homemade granola.
These organic rye flakes are hard to find online but are a highly recommended ingredient by Sally Fallon Morell (Weston Price Foundation) for soaking organic oats overnight in order to reduce their undesirable phytates. Their quality and price are excellent too. Taste is OK once mixed with the oats.
Bags are not 1 lb. Not very exciting. Quality is maybe mid.
These rye flaks are similar to old fashioned oats and are a nutritious alternative. They have a chewy yexture when cooked and mix well with berries.
